Healing for High Achieving Professionals.

You give so much to Others, but who’s giving to YOU?

You expected to LOVE your job. You expected to change the world; one life at a time, one patient at a time, one student at a time. You were going to make a difference, you were going to save lives!

What you didn’t expect was

  • Office politics

  • Skipping lunch because another nurse called in sick and the ER doesn’t run itself

  • You didn’t expect a spouse that doesn’t help out or children with challenging behaviors requiring what seems like almost constant emotional support.

Completely overwhelmed and maybe even paralyzed by past trauma you begin to question- “how did I get here, and what am I doing?”-“This isn’t life I dreamed of, there has to be something more!”

I’m here to tell you there is more, there is HOPE !

You Deserve Better!

You deserve to feel like yourself, to find peace, and to enjoy life again!

We will work together doing 50-60 minute sessions typically once a week to start moving you down the path to a better life!

About Me

Melissa Petesch, LSCSW

Life can feel overwhelming especially when you’re juggling a demanding career, family, kids, and everything in between. I’m here to offer you a place to feel heard and understood without judgement. Together we will discover what is keeping you stuck in this rut and find a way out. Working through your challenges is easier when you have someone to walk beside you. Let’s find a way to bring joy back to your life so you can feel like you’re thriving again not just surviving.

One of my specialties is Accelerated Resolution Therapy® (ART), a modality that can help treat symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma and more. All the work is done completely in session meaning there’s no homework or spending the rest of your week trying to change your mindset and then feeling like a failure when it’s harder than you expected.

Accelerated Resolutions Therapy

When you’re suffering you want relief fast. Accelerated Resolutions Therapy® (ART®) can offer relief quickly. Imagine what it would feel like to walk away from a therapy session saying “I feel lighter,” or “I feel free.” ART® can be used to treat, years of trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, phobias, and more. ART® reprograms the way the brain stores past memories through the use of bilateral eye movements and voluntary image replacements.

You keep all the facts of past memories but replace the negative image, and sensations with positive ones. This changes how you physically and emotionally respond to triggers so you can move forward with a life you want to live.

Together We Will

Explore Stories and Blocks

Our past experiences and stories we tell ourselves can keep us trapped in unhealthy ways of functioning.

Maybe it’s the belief that you have to be in control of everything or something terrible will happen. Maybe you were constantly prided on how successful you were in school and now you maintain the belief that if you aren’t constantly the best of the best you won’t be worth loving.

Whatever the story is, changing the narrative can free you from negative patterns of behavior.

Process Trauma Using ART

Trauma can leave us living in a constant state of fight or flight. Staying overly busy and never pausing may be your mind and body’s way of protecting you from re-experiencing or thinking about that past. As long as you are constantly moving and doing something you can avoid all those dark uncomfortable and anxious thoughts lingering just below the surface.

I specialize in Accelerated Resolutions Therapy which offers relief from a lifetime of past trauma.

Learn to Set Boundaries

Without strong boundaries you are at the mercy of others, not knowing when or how to stand up for yourself.

This might mean you take on the work of others leaving you drowning in work. This might also show up at home with your spouse and kids. Maybe you shoulder all of the household chores while they lounge around the house playing video games and watching Youtube waiting for you to cook the next meal.

Learning to set boundaries can free you from overworking and carrying the burdens of others.
